Are you a puppy mill? No, we are not. We have a commercial PA license, which is very difficult to obtain (as of now
there are only around 60 in PA and that number is declining steadily). Our dogs and puppies are very well-cared-for
and receive all the vet care, nutrition, and attention needed to thrive. Our dogs, as well as our puppies, are
very healthy and friendly. Our facility was brand new in 2009 and is continually being updated. In 2011, we installed
large, high-tech H-VAC system which controls the climate, temperature, air quality, humidity, and ammonia levels.
Temperature is controlled in the summertime with 16 tons of cooling. Our dogs not only have free access to outside,
but outside air is continually being filtered through the kennel for optimal comfort and health. Each dog has 24/7 access
to a large 20-foot outside run and inside, each dog has a large 8x10 space complete with a soft rubber mat and automatic waterer
providing clean, fresh water 24/7. Our kennel and dogs are a huge investment and we intend to produce the best possible
puppies in the facility we have. This is our main business and we operate every aspect of it with professionalism.
Where
are you located? Our kennel is located in Beaver Springs (zip 17812) about 3
hours West of the NJ/PA state line from I-80 and about an hour north of Harrisburg, PA. A Map-Quest search using Beaver Spring
Pa, 17812 will bring you within 2 miles of our kennel.
Are
you a licensed kennel? We are PA state licensed and inspected. Our kennel meets or exceeds
ALL of the rigid PA kennel requirements. We go even beyond the new strict regulations that are causing many breeders to close
their doors. We are also AKC inspected and approved and we surpass all AKC standards as well. We are so happy that PA has
taken a major step in eliminating puppy mills in our state with the new regulations, which has been a big problem in the past.
When looking for a puppy, ask the breeder if they are PA state licensed and ask to see their current license. It is virtually
impossible for a PA state licensed kennel to be a puppy mill under the new regulations. Help stop puppy mills by purchasing
only from a licensed breeder. NEVER purchase from a Pet Store; even though you may get lucky and get a healthy
puppy, you are still supporting the puppy mill behind your puppy and the horrible conditions that most pet store puppies
come from.
What is your
objective as a kennel? Our goal is to find 'forever' homes for our happy, healthy, and playful
puppies. If you think you can provide one of our puppies with the home they deserve, feel free to contact us anytime. We are
not a 'puppy mill'; neither are we a 'back-yard breeder'. We are experienced, professional breeders. Much time and research
has gone into our breeding program and all of our puppies are well cared for and very friendly. We have a good relationship
with Dr. Anthony Potorti at Big Valley Animal Hospital (717) 667-2000, who visits our kennel regularly.
How are your puppies raised? Our puppies are very well socialized
and are handled daily. They are raised with small children and are socialized with other dogs and puppies. Our kids bring
the puppies into our home a lot and play with them. We also have a designated playroom in our kennel where our kids
and puppies spend a lot of time socializing. Our puppies are most known for their friendliness and train-ability. We
strongly believe that the first eight weeks of a puppy's life influences it's personality, temperament, and train-ability
for the rest of it's life. If a puppy learns to trust and love humans from the start, and that is continued after they go
home, a wonderful family pet is the result.
What does your guarantee include? Included with all puppies is a 10-day contagious illness guarantee and a 30-day hereditary defect
guarantee that covers life threatening hereditary problems. You have the option of an additional two years if
the Nu-Vet vitamins are given daily. In the event of a problem, you MUST provide proof that you administered the Nu-Vet
vitamins as directed for the entire course of the first two years of life. We do recommend continuing feeding them for
the lifetime of your dog to help avoid any health issues and for optimum health. We do not refund money in the rare
case of a problem; you are entitled to another available puppy of equal value. If you choose a puppy that costs
more than you paid for your original puppy, you must pay the difference in price for the replacement puppy.
What about potty training? Our
puppies learn very early to go outside to eliminate. They have free access to outside and begin using their doggy door
as young as 4 or 5 weeks of age. The mother teaches them early on and then when they are weaned, we work with them to
teach them to continue eliminating outside. Many of our puppies are trained within a week or two in their new homes.
Many happy customers have contacted me saying their puppy only had 2-4 accidents at all and were trained in no time.
Your puppy will also be accustomed to a crate and will be started on crate training.
What is provided with the puppy? We provide vet records
along with vaccination and deworming records with all our puppies. We are very confident that our puppies are healthy. We
offer an excellent two-year health guarantee with all our puppies if Nu-Vet vitamins are given daily.
Do you own my
puppy's parents? All parents are on the premises and may be visited when picking
up your puppy. In rare cases, we will use a close friend's dog for stud or we may advertise family's puppies on our site,
but we will make note of it. However, ALL puppies we sell were bred and raised here with us.
How can I reserve a puppy? A
nonrefundable deposit will hold a puppy for you until it is ready to go at 8 weeks old. You MUST choose a puppy at the time
your deposit is placed so others in line behind you know what is available. Your deposit is NONREFUNDABLE and NONTRANSFERABLE. In
the event that your puppy of choice fails to thrive, you may then have the option of a refund or you can transfer your deposit
to another puppy of your choice. We accept cash, check, money order, or credit cards for payment for a deposit on a puppy.
Your deposit may be made in person or with a credit card by phone or a mailed check. PayPal is also accepted.
What forms of payment do you accept for final payment? We ONLY accept cash, check, or money order for final payment. If you wish to pay using a credit
card or PayPal, you MUST add 3% to the total. ABSOLUTELY no reward cards.
Do you ship or deliver puppies? Due
to an increase in obligations here at the kennel, we can no longer personally drive to deliver puppies. However, we
use a reliable relative for ground shipping within PA or to neighboring states for $1.50 per mile (charging only one way).
You can have them deliver to your door within 3-4 hours distance or drive to meet you part-way. Longer trips may be
possible; contact us to check. Shipping via airplane is available for an extra $325-$350. This includes the extra vet
exam and certification for flying, the crate, and the one and a half hour drive to our closest airport.
Can
we come see the puppies? Feel free to contact us to set up a time to come see our puppies.
We schedule visits anytime after the puppies are 5 weeks old, usually on any Monday through Saturday. Saturdays we normally
close at 2:30 pm. No Sunday sales or visits (religious reasons, no exceptions,
please). We do not allow the general public inside our main kennel but you can see everything through the office
door.
Will my puppy be registered? Most of our puppies are designer dogs, which is a mixed breed. They cannot be
registered with AKC or ACA. You may request to view the parent's papers if you wish. ALL our designers come from
AKC or ACA lines and are purebred unless otherwise noted. Our Labs and Goldens are registered with AKC and come with
limited registration unless other arrangements were made in advance.
